Ex-Boyfriend Facing Charges After Attempting to Batter Bolingbrook Woman: Police

49-year-old man damages a black GMC SUV parked in Lot S on Bolingbrook's Fernwood Drive, police report.

First, there was a disturbance in the parking lot, and officers separated several individuals involved in a confrontation in Lot S on Bolingbrook's Fernwood Drive, Lt. Mike Rompa said.

Then, the real boy vs. girl fun began.

And Rompa said Florentino Jimenez, 49, of 75 Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested on charges of domestic battery/physical contact and criminal damage to property—a felony—following an incident that occurred at 9:27 p.m. Sunday.

Rompa said police investigated further after initially securing the scene in the Lot S parking lot on Fernwood Drive and discovered Florentino allegedly had arrived at his former girlfriend's house. Rompa said Florentino knocked on the door.

"After no answer, he discovered the new boyfriend's black GMC SUV was in the parking lot and proceeded to damage it," Rompa said. "The former girlfriend came to the front door and Jimenez battered her as he attempted to engage the new boyfriend."

Rompa said police took Jimenez into custody. He was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Jimenez was awaiting a court appearance on Monday to determine whether he would be released on bond.
