Field Catches Fire Near Pioneer Elementary School

No injuries were reported in the fire, which took place around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

An acre of field near caught fire Wednesday, according to officials. 

The fire broke out around 12:15 p.m. near the 500 block of Pheasant Chase Drive, according to Bolingbrook Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Ross.

Officials said a nearby resident burning paper in a firepit in his yard started the fire. 

It took about 10 minutes to extinguish. No one was injured in the blaze.

People need to use more common sense....hmmm....we are in a draught, its 100 degrees the last thing I am thinking about is having a bonfire. Thankful that noone got hurt and no houses caught on fire!
