Armed Robbers Lead 100-MPH Police Chase to Bolingbrook Near Weber and Boughton Roads

Residents reported heavy police activity in the area of Weber and Boughton Roads Thursday night.

Two people were taken into custody Thursday night following a high-speed police chase that ended in Bolingbrook, according to Illinois State Police. 

The pair allegedly committed an armed robbery at an AT&T store in Hodgkins, IL. They then fled the area in a Red Oldsmobile Alero, according to the Northern Illinois Fireground Photos Facebook page. The driver reportedly was armed with a 9mm handgun. Illinois State Police spotted the car on I-55 and tried to pull the car over. When the offenders' car did not stop, ISP began pursuit.

Northern Illinois Fireground Photos reported the car to clock a speed of 100 mph on I-55 to I-80 eastbound. The page also reported the car was trying to force police squads off the road.

Both Illinois State Police and Hodgkins Police pursued the car to Weber and Boughton Roads in Bolingbrook. That's where the car crashed into two other cars. Residents reported seeing the crash and both driver and passenger running from the car, trying to evade police. 

The pair were taken into custody following the crash, which caused minor property damaged, according to ISP. There was no report of injuries from the crash. 

"Round Of Applause for Our Police Officers! Goes to Show you Rob and Steal With A Gun,You Are Going To Prison! One Suspect Caught and about 100+ cops Have The Other Looser In Cuffs @ Chils On Bougton Road! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the Northern Illinois Fireground Photos Facebook page posted around 8 p.m.  

The incident took place around 7 p.m. Hodgkins is about 14 miles away from Bolingbrook along I-55.
