Illegal U-Turn Nets DUI Charge For Driver
Officers said they found a plastic cup filled with alcohol behind the driver's seat.
David T. Howard, 32, of the 1000 block of Churchill Drive in , was arrested around 1:37 a.m. May 26 near Lemont Road and Interstate 55, Darien police said.
Officers said they stopped Howard after they saw him make an illegal U-turn and found a plastic cup filled with alcohol behind the driver’s seat.
Howard’s breath smelled like alcohol, he spoke with slurred speech, and he admitted to drinking, police said.

He refused to take a Breathalyzer test. Police charged him with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a license and making an improper U-turn.
He was given a July 3 court date.
