Man Arrested After Domestic Dispute Prompts School Lockdown in Lockport

The man was eventually taken into custody. No injuries were reported.

A 41-year-old Lockport man was taken into custody after allegedly barricading himself inside a home in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street in Lockport Thursday morning.

A domestic dispute involving a couple at the home prompted precautionary lockdowns at Kelvin Grove School and Lockport Township High School, according to WJOL.

According to WJOL, Lockport police responded to the dispute, and a woman was eventually allowed to leave the home unharmed.

Patrick McGinnis, 41, reportedly barricaded himself in the Jefferson Street home and refused to come out. A SWAT unit was eventually able to enter the home and take McGinnis into custody.

In a Connect-Ed message to parents, Milne-Kelvin Grove School District said Lockport police had confirmed that the threat was over, and normal activities had resumed in the district.
