Loaded Gun Hidden in Bushes Leads to Charges

Eduardo M. Tejeda, 19, of Bolingbrook faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID card, while Jose A. Perez, 28, of Romeoville was charged with resisting a police officer and fraudulent driver's license.

Two local men are behind bars for various charges after police found a loaded revolver in some bushes.

 Police Lt. Mike Rompa said officers were dispatched at 9:43 p.m. Thursday to Lot K of the Beaconridge apartment complex for a group of suspicious people.

Upon arrival, officers said they saw Jose A. Perez, 28, 211 Alder Creek, Romeoville, and Eduardo M. Tejeda, 19, 222 Prairie Court, Bolingbrook, in the immediate area talking to each other.

Police said Tejeda then leaned down and placed an item under some bushes, and as officers approached Tejeda dropped a pair of gloves. Officers checked the area and found a loaded revolver in the bushes.

Perez and Tejeda were taken into custody and upon the results of the investigation, were transported to the Will County Adult Detention Center.

Tejeda faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID card. Perez was charged with resisting a peace officer and fraudulent driver’s license.

Police said the incident remains under investigation.
