Mom Points Finger at Daughter to Avoid Felony Makeup Pinch: OMGPD

A tipsy whistle hater, an eye doc with a toilet camera and bra thievery in this week's annals of Chicagoland crime-n-shame.

OMGPD, a collection of Patch Chicago's weird and noteworthy crime reports, appears weekly.

I, Liar: A mom caught trying to leave an Orland Park store with pilfered eyeliner and other cosmetics tried to beat the rap by blaming someone else — her 12-year-old daughter. She didn't buy the makeup, and cops didn't buy her excuse, charging her with felony theft. Orland Park Patch

Whistler's Bother: Yo ho ho and a bottle o' rum! A tipsy Elmhurst man, displeased with his neighbor's whistling, ordered his neighbor's dog to bite its own master for whistling. When cops arrived, the man confessed that he'd downed a few swallows of rum before the run-in. The dog didn't bite. Elmhurst Patch

Scene from 'The Hangover, Part 4': A man suspected of drunken driving almost drove into a police squad car before he decided he had a better chance of escaping on foot. So he parked, tossed his keys and ran. He didn't get far, though, because Tinley Park police put him down with a stun gun. Tinley Park Patch

Bra Tender: Someone stole $1,768 in brassieres from a Northbrook retailer on April 4. A bust has yet to be made. Northbrook Patch

The Problem Solver: A bicyclist who tried to get an Arlington Heights man to pay for damage to his bike found himself running for his life when the man grabbed a black-powder rifle and began chasing him. Arlington Heights Patch

Doctor Peeper: An opthalmologist is accused of hiding a camera in a Chicago Eye Institute restroom to secretly record women using the toilet. He also put a camera in a locker room at another Eye Institute office. The women were able to identify themselves on the recordings. Lake View Patch

Looking Out for Each Other: It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor ... so sang Mr. Rogers. He probably didn't live here. As a woman in Joliet pulled into her driveway, she spotted a neighbor exposing his privates to her. As he tried to run away, a good neighbor caught the bad neighbor and held him until police arrived. Drawn on eyebrows and a heavy coat on the the lower lid, that's just wrong!LOL Not as wrong as trying to pin it on your 12 year old daughter though, that's just scandalous!
