No Injuries in Townhouse Fire on Chippewa Court

The first floor of the home was heavily damaged, Bolingbrook fire officials said.

No one was injured when a fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Saturday at a townhouse on the 200 block of Chippewa Court, Bolingbrook fire officials said.

Fire heavily damaged the first floor of the home, while causing minor damage on the second floor, Lt. Mike Newton wrote in an email. Newton was acting battalion chief during the fire. The blaze was under control in about 30 minutes.

Early reports said a child was trapped in the home, but Newton said those reports were false.

The fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire, he said.
