Local Man Charged in Bolingbrook Armed Robbery
Police said they have arrested Ronald W. Townsend Jr. of Orland Park in connection with last week's robbery at the Payday Loan Store.
Bolingbrook detectives arrested Ronald W. Townsend Jr., 44, of Orland Park, on Tuesday in connection with of the at 348 Commons Drive, according to police.
Charged with one count of armed robbery, Townsend was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
According to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa, an employee of the store told detectives last week that a man wearing sunglasses and a blue hooded jacket displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and ordered employees to the back of the store.

Witnesses said the man forced employees to open the safe, placed approximately $200 in cash into a plastic bag and fled the store on foot, according to reports.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
