Parachutist Survives After Chute Fails to Open: Police

The chutist landed in the 200 block of Buli Lane, police said.

Bolingbrook police said a parachutist survived after his chute failed to open on Sunday.

Lt. Mike Rompa said police responded to the area of 111th and Weber Road for a report of a parachutist down. He said it was determined the man's primary chute failed and was cut away as he fell to the ground in the 200 bloc of Buli Lane.

The parachutist landed safely with his reserve chute and was not injured, police said.
