New Lenox Woman, 42, Killed by Metra Train in New Lenox

Authorities are currently on the scene near Vine Street and Route 30 in New Lenox.

A 42-year-old New Lenox woman was struck and killed by a Metra train near Vine St. and Route 30 in New Lenox Monday afternoon. Her name is being withheld pending family notification, the Will County Coroner said. 

Rock Island Train #514, scheduled to depart Joliet at 12:25 p.m. and arrive Chicago at 1:50 p.m., was stopped after striking a pedestrian around 12:30 p.m. near the station, 300 Church St. said Tom Miller, Metra spokesperson.

Trains were moving again by about 1:30 p.m.
