Police Blotter: 17-Year-Old Charged With Armed Robbery After Stealing Marijuana Plant

Bolingbrook police reports, Nov. 19-20.

Sunday, Nov. 20

1. Disorderly conduct

Brian Buchanan, 42, of the 800 block of Grand Avenue in Joliet, was charged with disorderly conduct on the 400 block of West Boughton Road at 1:32 a.m. following a call to the business for a belligerent customer who had exposed his private parts to the staff.

2. DUI

Ismael Silva, 46, of the 100 block of Garden Drive, was charged with DUI following a traffic stop on the 500 block of Remington Boulevard at 1:22 a.m.

3. Warrant

Osman Ovalle-Blanco, 29, of the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive, was charged with no valid driver’s license and an in-state warrant following a traffic stop at the intersection of Preston Drive and Boughton Road at 10:55 a.m.

4. Mailbox damaged

A mailbox was damaged on the 1800 block of Marne Road at 1:06 a.m.

5. Freightliner stolen

A 2000 green Freightliner was removed from the parking lot on the 200 block of Old Chicago Drive between Nov. 18 and Nov. 20.

6. Slow plow robbed

A salt spreader, mounted lights and two control units were removed from a snow plow parked on the 3200 block of South Weber Road between Nov. 10 and Nov. 20. Loss valued at $2,200.

Saturday, Nov. 19

7. Three busted in suspicious vehicle call

Edgar Morales, 20, of the 100 block of Cedarwood Court, was charged with an air rifle ordinance violation and an in-state warrant; Gualberto Moreira, 18, of the 200 block of Seabury Road, was charged with resisting a peace officer; and Yesenia Moreira, 20, of the 200 block of Seabury Road, was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol following a call to the 200 block of North Bolingbrook Drive for a suspicious vehicle. A 17-year-old was also charged with a curfew violation.

8. Hit and run

Zully Diaz-Velazquez, 26, of the 100 block of Fairwood Drive, was charged with a hit and run, no valid driver’s license, no insurance and improper lane usage following a traffic stop at 12 p.m.

9. Park district concession stand broken into

The concession stand was broken into on the 200 block of Recreation Drive between Nov. 18 and Nov. 19. Money was taken from the register.

10. Battery

John Torres, Jr., 24, of the 700 block of Geneva Avenue in Romeoville, was charged with battery and criminal damage to property following a call to the 100 block of Galewood Lane at 2:35 a.m.

11. Armed robbery

A 17-year-old was charged with armed robbery following an incident on the 100 block of Garden Drive at 3:02 p.m. The teen displayed the gun and took money and a marijuana plant.

12. DUI

Michael Flinchum, 37, of the 700 block of Autumn Drive, was charged with two counts of DUI following a traffic stop at the 300 block of West Boughton Drive at 6:46 p.m.

13. Residential burglary

Police were called to the 200 block of Kenilworth for the report of a residential burglary. A downstairs window was found open and a jewelry box was taken between 5 p.m. and 8:29 p.m.

14. Lawn equipment stolen

Two lawnmowers and two lawn trimmers were taken from a shed on the 800 block of Brompton Circle. Loss valued at $700.

15. Electronics stolen from car

A navigation system and Blackberry cell phone were taken from a car parked on the 100 block of Enclave Circle between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19. Loss valued at $1,000.

16. Wedding ring stolen from home

Police were called to the 300 block of Fox Bend Circle for the report of a residential burglary. A rear window was found broken between Nov. 13 and Nov. 19. An unknown person took two laptops, a carrying case, several video games, a wedding ring, a can of loose change and a wedding band. Loss valued at $14,900.

17. Residential burglary

The service door to a home on the 300 block of Blackfoot Drive was kicked in and a window screen was cut between 9:20 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Two flat screen 42-inch TVs, two laptops, money, credit cards and two rings were taken. Loss valued at $16,400.

18. Car burglary

A window was broken to a car parked on the 200 block of Weber Road and a laptop and GPS unit were taken. Loss valued at $600.
