Police Blotter: 35-Year-Old Man Busted with Drugs

Wednesday, Aug. 31
1. Retail theft
Kayla Leonard, 21, of the 400 block of Kingston Avenue in Romeoville, was charged with retail theft at the Meijer at 225 N. Weber Rd. at 9:45 a.m.

2. Attempted home burglary
Police were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of a residential burglary. Police say an unknown offender attempted to pry open the dead bolt to gain entry between 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. No entry was made.

Tuesday, Aug. 30
3. Battery
Robert Grgula, 31, of the 600 block of West Briarcliff Road, was charged with battery and Julia Peterka, 27, of the 500 block of Cumberland Lane, was charged with battery and disorderly conduct after a call to the residence for a disturbance at 7:18 p.m.
4. Possession of a controlled substance
Matthew Torgerson, 35, of the 1000 block of Michael Court in Glendale Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, driving on a suspended license and no insurance following a traffic stop at the intersection of Pinecrest Road and Assembly Drive at 1:51 a.m.
5. Warrant
Kevin Louis, 20, of the 300 block of Clifton Avenue, was charged with an outstanding warrant on the 300 block of Blair Lane at 12:25 p.m.
6. Residential burglary
Police were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of a residential burglary. A homeowner told police that they found a ripped bedroom screen and a laptop and PS3 taken between 8:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. Loss valued at $1,200.
7. Residential burglary
Police were called to Lot U of Fernwood Drive for the report of a residential burglary. Police say an unknown subject pried open the front door and took a HP laptop, iPod Touch and money between 11:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
8. Money taken from car
A window was broken to a car parked on the 200 block of Lindsey Lane. A purse and money were taken between 8:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. Loss valued at $100.
9. Retail theft
Police were called to Menards at 290 N. Bolingbrook Dr. for the report of a retail theft at 8:54 a.m. An unknown subject took a five gallon bucket of copper fittings and left the store without paying.
