Police Blotter: Five Homes Broken Into in One Day

Retail theft

Andrew Mathis, 30, of the 700 block of Liberty Drive in Wheaton, was charged with retail theft at a business on the 200 block of North Weber Road at 12:50 p.m.

Burglary

Police were called to the 300 block of North Schmidt Road for the report of a burglary. A business had the window broken out, wires cut and more than 100 cartons of cigarettes were taken between 4:55 a.m. and 6 a.m. Loss valued at $4,699.

Residential burglary

A wood door frame was damaged, the peep hole was missing and a 55-inch TV was taken from a home on the 500 block of Preston Drive between midnight and 7:57 a.m.

Residential burglary

The front door of a home on the 300 block of Hadleigh Drive was forced open and a laptop, bowling ring and high school ring were taken between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Loss valued at $1,000.

Residential burglary

A home on the 1500 block of Trails End had the front door forced open and several pieces of gold jewelry were taken between 8:15 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. Loss valued at $1,400.

Residential burglary

A home on the 1400 block of Somerfield Drive had the front door forced open and a laptop, digital camera, a watch and money were taken between 4:30 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. Loss valued at $2,200.

Car burglaries

Several cars parked on the 1100 block of West Boughton Road were entered between 6:40 p.m. and 7:51 p.m. Loose change, cigarettes, a GPS and phone charger were taken. Jacob Newberry, 21, of the 100 block of Glen Lake Drive was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle.

Stolen wallet

A wallet was taken from a car parked on the 200 block of North Weber Road between 12:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.

Residential burglary

Judrika Houston, 22, of the 600 block of Willow Drive in Naperville, was charged with residential burglary, robbery and possession of stolen property on the 300 block of West Briarcliff Road.

Teen caught with cigarettes

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with sale of tobacco products to minor on the 200 block of North Bolingbrook Drive at 1:47 p.m.
