Police Blotter: Gas Station Robbed of Lottery Tickets on Christmas Day

Bolingbrook police reports, Dec. 24-25.

Sunday, Dec. 25

1. Theft

Police were called to the Marathon Gas station at 290 Veterans Parkway for the report of a theft. A witness said they saw a subject run from the store with an undetermined number of instant lottery tickets at 3:59 p.m.

2. Residential burglary

Police responded to the 600 block of Blackhawk Lane for the report of a residential burglary. Three smart phones, a PA system, a digital camera, microphones, cables, audio jacks and connecting cables were taken between Dec. 10 and Dec. 25. Loss valued at $8,000.

3. Residential burglary

An Xbox and numerous pieces of jewelry were taken from a home on Lot H of Fernwood Drive between Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.

4. Armed robbery

Police were called to Pinecrest Road for the report of an armed robbery. The victim said they had picked up a taxi far in Downers Grove and drove the subject to Bolingbrook. Upon arrival, the subject displayed a handgun and demanded money and the victim’s cell phone at 2:34 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 24

5. Home burglary

A laptop was taken from a home on the 200 block of Northridge Drive. A rear door was found to have been forced open. Loss valued at $450.

6. Warrants

Elton Effinger, 45, of the 200 block of Roman Circle, was charged with two in-state warrants on the 200 block of South Bolingbrook Drive at 1:21 a.m.

7. Aggravated arson

Police were called to the 300 building of Woodcreek Drive for the report of an aggravated arson at 7:07 p.m.

8. Stolen car

A 1998 black Malibu was taken from the 400 block of West Crossroads Parkway between midnight and 1:09 a.m. The car keys were discovered missing from the victim’s coat pocket.

9. Stolen iPad

An iPad 2 was taken from a victim while shopping on the 1100 block of West Boughton Road between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Loss valued at $629.
