Police Blotter: Thief Poses as Construction Worker to Gain Entry to Home

1. Computer, money stolen from home

A laptop and money was taken from a home on the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive between 10 a.m. and 12:22 p.m. The homeowner told police they found a rear sliding door open. Loss valued at $5,600.

2. Sewer covers missing from the village

Numerous sewer covers valued at $1,600 were missing from around the village.

3. Thief poses as construction worker

Police responded to the 700 block of Pinecrest Road for the report of a residential burglary. The victim told police that an unknown subject told them they would be digging in the area and did not want to cut any wires. After the subject left, the homeowner discovered several gold coins, a diamond pendant and a pair of earrings were missing at 4:35 p.m.

4. Residential burglary

Police were called to the 200 block of Far Hills Drive for the report of a residential burglary. A front window was found pushed in and an iPhone, several pieces of jewelry and a check were taken between 11:08 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

5. Residential burglary

Police were called the 300 block of Sword Way for the report of a residential burglary. A basement window was found broken and a 19-inch TV, a necklace and two pairs of gold earrings were found missing between Sept. 12 and Sept. 13. Loss valued at $850.

6. Theft

Police were called to the 500 block of Remington Boulevard for the report of a theft. A telemetry box was taken at 9:20 a.m. Loss valued at $5,000.

7. Stolen car

A 1999 black Volkswagen was taken from a business parking lot on the 200 block of Old Chicago Drive.
