Police Blotter: Video Games Stolen During House Party, Tires Slashed

May 13

Warrant

Kenneth Smith Jr., 23, of the 100 block of Winston Court, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 100 block of Joy Drive at 10:51 p.m., police said.

Residential burglary

Police responded to a home on the 100 block of Oxford Drive for the report of a residential burglary. The homeowner said he discovered a rear door open and a PS3 and laptop were stolen between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m., police said. Loss is valued at $1,050.

Police responded to the 200 block of Yellow Pine Drive for the report of a residential burglary. The homeowner said he found the front door kicked in sometime between May 13 and May 14, police said.

Resisting a peace officer

Maurice Thomas, 20, of the 1500 block of Marquette Road in Joliet, was charged with no insurance, no valid driver’s license and resisting a peace officer, police said. Jerry Williams Jr., 23, of the same address, was also charged with resisting a peace officer following a traffic stop on the Lot O, of Beaconridge Drive at 12:15 a.m., police said.

May 12

Burglary

Police responded to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of a burglary. The homeowner said a window screen was cut to gain entry and a laptop and computer bag were taken between noon and 1 p.m., police said. Loss is valued at $600.

Warrant

Alma Gonzalez, 20, of the 14000 block of Shamanm Drive, was charged with an in-state warrant and driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop at Jennifer Lane and Weber Road at 3:23 p.m., police said.

A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 400 block of North Bolingbrook Drive at 10:39 p.m., police said.

Domestic battery

Alphonso Hughes, 39, of the 800 block of Brompton Circle, was charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault and an in-state warrant following a call to the residence of a domestic disturbance at 9:28 a.m., police said.

Slashed tire

Officers were called to the 300 block of Malibu Drive for the report of criminal damage to property. Police say the offender punctured the rear tire sometime overnight.

Stolen headlight cover

Officers were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of criminal damage to property. Police say a vehicle had a bumper damaged and a headlight cover was taken between May 10 and May 12.

May 7

Party goer steals items

Police responded to the 100 block of Shady Lane for the report of a theft. The homeowner said a PSP, Sony air speaker, several Blu-Rays and numerous video games were taken sometimes between May 7 and May 8, following a party at the residence, according to police.
