Police: Drunk Dirt Bike Driver Hit Bolingbrook Officer

A Bolingbrook man drove toward an officer before losing control of his dirt bike, according to police.

A Bolingbrook man is in jail after police say he drunkenly hit a police officer with his dirt bike Wednesday evening.

Steffan Sanfilippo, 40, of the 500 block of Preston Drive, is being charged with aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and several traffic violations, police said.

Officers said they were called to the 300 block of Hadleigh Road in reference to a complaint of a dirt bike going up and down the street. While on the scene, an officer located the Sanfilippo and attempted to make a traffic stop, according to reports.

Sanfilippo lost control shortly afterward and wound up on the ground where he continued to resist arrest by the injured officer, according to reports.
