When Bolingbrook police were called to the 100 block of Jamestown Lane on Friday night, their mission was to check on the report of a robbery, according to Lt. Mike Rompa.
He said police literally ended up fighting off a suspect and making a drug bust.
John Gooden, 21, of 135 Somerset, Bolingbrook, was charged with possession of cannabis (over 30 grams), possession of drug equipment, delivery of cannabis (over 30 grams), resisting arrest and aggravated battery to a police officer following an incident that occurred at 9:36 p.m. Friday (Oct. 25) in the 100 block of Jamestown Lane, Rompa said.
"Officers located a subject who matched the description of one involved," Rompa said. "Upon the officer's approach, the subject struck the officer and fled on foot. They subject was eventually apprehended and taken into custody."
