Police: Gang Dispute Results in Flipped Car Near Humphrey Middle School

Four Bolingbrook men have been charged in the incident.

Police say an ongoing gang dispute boiled over last week and ended in a car chase which flipped a car near a Bolingbrook middle school.

Four Bolingbrook men have been arrested in the incident. 

According to police, Jaime and Daniel Velez, brothers that live on the 100 block of Seabury Road, went to a home on the 500 block of Falconridge Way on July 1 after an ongoing dispute between gang members. Upon arrival, the brothers threw rocks at Angello Castillo’s Chevy Suburban, which was parked in the driveway. The windshield of the car was damaged.

Bolingbrook Lieutenant Mike Rompa said Sergio Gloria then responded by damaging the Velez’s car, a Chevy Blazer, by breaking its windows. The Velez brothers drove off and were chased by Castillo in the Suburban.

Castillo then rammed the Valez brothers at the corner of Sword Way and Falconridge, causing the Blazer to roll over just a few blocks away from , Rompa said.

Castillo fled the scene, the police report said.

The Velez brothers were treated at and were initially released. But while at the police station, both brothers displayed additional symptoms from the accident and were transported back to ABH for minor injuries and were later released.

In the end, the Velez brothers and Gloria were charged with felony criminal damage to property, while Castillo was charged with felony aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and other traffic offenses.

All four are in the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
