A Bolingbrook woman found dead in her bathroom Friday afternoon is believed to have been killed in a domestic dispute, police said.

Shirley Marzo, 53, was found after police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute between a mother and her son at 3:45 p.m.

In a press release, Lt. Michael Rompa said a female caller told dispatchers that her mother was dead. Officers responding to the home at 513 Nassau Ave. discovered Marzo in the bathroom with apparent stab wounds to her back.

A preliminary investigation suggested Marzo was involved in a domestic dispute with her son, Rompa said in the release.

Rompa said the son was found in Chenoa, a town about 85 miles south of Bolingbrook, and is now in custody.

Michael L. Marzo, 23, is charged with first-degree murder and was being processed pending transport to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, Rompa said early Saturday.

“There is no indication of any other individuals involved at this time in the investigation,” Rompa said.

The crime is not related to the search for fugitive Cesar Sanchez, who escaped from a moving Illinois Department of Corrections van Friday afternoon in Lockport.

Him! I wonder why my comment was removed! What happened to the first ammendment or is this paper a Quinn supporter?

The first amendment applies to this newspaper? Is the government deleting your comments, or making a law to prevent you from commenting? No, I didn't think so. You can't even spell the word 'amendment' correctly, so it is not very surprising that you do not understand what it actually is.

Oh a typo! Hang me! I wonder why I would never consider living in Boring Brook! Wow I have a right to my view on the death penalty and a joke of Gov. Quinn and I get deleted for stating bring back the death penalty! This murder would qualify for the death penalty if there's a conviction, instead of judges lately handing down 20,30 year prison sentences for murders in the news! That's a joke!

Are you serious? Why are you trying to play the race card here? Its not rocket science! They were looking for both men at the same time and wanted the public to know that there was no connection to the inmate escape. WOW... Maybe you should move back in 2011!
