Police: Indiana Man Arrested After Displaying Gun, Blocking Woman From Leaving Home

An Indiana man is being charged with several felonies following an incident on Rebecca Lane Monday evening, according to police.

An Indiana man is in jail today after police said he physically blocked his Bolingbrook ex-girlfriend from leaving her home with his car and showed her a gun.

Police said Michael Redd, 39, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon and false information of a firearm owner's ID card just before 7 p.m. Monday.

Redd would not let his ex-girlfriend leave a home on the 700 block of Rebecca Lane by parking his car in front of the woman's vehicle on the home's driveway, according to police.

Police responded to the incident after the 52-year-old woman called police saying she was being held without her permission and that Redd had a gun on him.

Bolingbrook Police Lt. Michael Rompa said the gun was just displayed and never actually pointed at the woman.

Upon arriving on the scene, police said they recovered a handgun from Redd and arrested him.

There were no injuries reported. Redd was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
