Police: Related Teens Cited for Drunk Driving in Accident

Alfredo and Christopher Najera both arrested and charged with DUI and failure to report an accident.

Two Bolingbrook teenagers that police say are likely related were arrested earlier this month and charged with DUI after the two allegedly tried to conceal a drunken car crash.

According to police reports, Christopher Najera, 19, of the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive, was charged with failure to report an accident, driving on a suspended license and DUI following a traffic stop on the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive at 2:14 a.m. on June 11, police said.

Then two hours later, Alfredo Najera, 19, of the 100 block of Lancaster Drive, was charged with improper lane usage, failure to report an incident, hit and run and two counts of DUI following a two-car accident at the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Woodcreek Drive.

Bolingbrook Lieutenant Mike Rompa said the two could be cousins, although police are not certain on the relationship.

Rompa said Alfredo Najera was driving southbound on Woodcreed before striking two parked cars with a 1995 Ford Explorer. At that point, Rompa said, Christopher Najera took over driving and fled the scene.
