Police Seeking Info on Man who Tried to Abduct Romeoville High School Student

The suspect is described as standing about 6 feet tall, with wavy brown haired parted down the middle, glasses, a speech impediment and a "droopy" face.

Romeoville police are seeking a man who tried to force a Romeoville High School student into his car Tuesday afternoon.

The 18-year-old girl was walking in the area of Troxel and Murphy avenues at about 12:30 p.m. when she noticed a light tan, four-door vehicle driving by, the driver of which was looking directly at her, according to a police department news release.

The vehicle drove away and the girl continued walking, the release said.

In the 300 block of Kirman Avenue, the victim said the same man approached her, grabbed her arm and attempted to force her into his vehicle. The victim elbowed the subject, forcing him to drop her arm, and she continued walking, the release said. He attempted once more to urge her into the vehicle before he decided to drive away, the release said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, standing about 6 feet tall. He has light brown wavy hair parted down the middle and was wearing glasses, a T-shirt and blue jeans. He also has a speech impediment and a "droopy" face, the release said.

Anyone with information in reference to the incident is asked to call the Romeoville Police Department at 815-886-7219. Information can also be offered anonymously by calling the department's tip line, 815-328-5205.
