Police: Thief Punches Victim in Face, Steals Cell Phone and Wallet

Victim punched in face, cell phone and wallet stolen 

Someone punched another in the face and then stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet at 1:50 p.m. in the 300 block of S. Schmidt Road, according to .

Fight

Officers were called to the 200 block of Fox Bend Circle for the report of a large fight, police said. Two victims were punched in the face at 2:05 am. Cedric Hakiza, 23, of 24855 W. Franklin Ln. in Plainfield, was arrested and charged with two in-state warrants and disorderly conduct.

Jennifer Leonard, 28, 724 N. Austin St., Oak Park, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. Jibril Armstead, 19, of 378 Whitewater Dr., Jihad Wilkins, 18, of 193 Campbell Dr. and Felix Montanez, 29, of 720 Inland Cir., Naperville, were all charged with disorderly conduct.

Fight

Officers were called to the 400 block of N. Bolingbrook Drive at 12:44 a.m. for the report of a fight, police said. One of the victims was punched in the head and later taken to the hospital for his or her injuries, police said. 

Handicapped parking, DUI

Devon Wallace, 21, of 1 Raven Ct., was arrested at 3:20 a.m. and charged with handicapped parking and DUI,following a traffic stop on the 100 block of N. Bolingbrook Drive, police said. 

Tires slashed

Three tires were slashed to a car on the 300 block of Hadleigh Road between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., police said. 

Driving on a suspended license, failure to yield

Daniel Ramirez, 21, of 152 Somerset Dr. was arrested at 12:15 a.m. and charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and failure to yield, following a traffic stop on the 500 block of Remington Boulevard, police said.

Theft from Kohl’s

Maria Tapia, 36, of 1575 Farmside Ln., was charged with retail theft at Kohl’s, 1138 W. Boughton Rd., at 7:55 pm., police said.

Theft from Meijer

Officers were called to Meijer, 225 N. Weber Rd., for the report of retail theft at 3:15 p.m., police said. Two suspects placed numerous items in a shopping cart, placed the merchandise in bags and exited the store without paying. The stolen items were valued at $476.

In-state warrant

Genese Powell, 30, 308 Arbor Ct., was arrested at 7:08 p.m. and charged with an in-state warrant, following a traffic stop on the 300 block of Commons Drive, police said.
