Police: Woodridge Chef Hid Camera in Naperville Restaurant Bathroom

The Woodridge man was arrested in mid-March and failed to appear for an April court date; police say they want to speak to any women who may have used the bathroom.

A cook at Taco Fresco in Naperville allegedly hid a camera phone in the restaurant's women's bathroom and covertly recorded women using the toilets, CBS Chicago reports.

Meliton Andrade, 44, of the 2500 block of Spring Street, Woodridge, was arrested on March 12 at his home. According to the Naperville Sun, he became a fugitive on April 4 when he failed to appear for his arraignment in Will County Court. CBS said they "tried unsuccessfully to track him down."

Naperville police told the Sun in March that a woman using the restroom had discovered the camera behind a "trap cover" on a bathroom door, and told CBS that it is unknown how long the camera may have been recording for. Police are interested in speaking with any women who may have used the bathroom, CBS said.

“It’s absolutely disgusting and humiliating to know that was going on,” Shannon Sutton, an employee at a neighboring business, told CBS. ”I think it’s disgusting and he should have to pay for what he did to people... Women bring their children in the bathroom all the time."
