Rampage on Bolingbrook's Remington Boulevard Thwarted: Police Report

Nicholas L. Marquardt is arrested and charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

When fire alarms went off, Bolingbrook police responded to a location on Remington Blvd. to assist the Bolingbrook Fire Department.

Good thing, too.

Officers arrested Nicholas L. Marquardt, 34, of 1067 Bothwell, Bolingbrook, following a personal-rampage incident at 10:45 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 21) in the 300 block of Remington Blvd., according to Lt. Mike Rompa. Marquardt was charged with burglary (felony), criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

He gained access to the building through the front door, Rompa said.

"Once inside, he pulled two fire alarms, broke out several extinguishers, damaged several pictures by knocking them off the wall and then attempted to break into an adjoining suite," Rompa said.

When police arrived, they observed a male subject—later identified as Marquardt—standing outside the building with a fire extinguisher, Rompa said.

Marquardt was taken into custody, processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
