At [Dec. 16,2010], an investigation into street-level drug dealing that lasted several months concluded when Joliet Narcotics officers, Will County Gang Suppression deputies and federal agents raided Grimes alleged “stash house” at 211 Cameron Ave. in Lockport Township.

Grimes and Kenneth Toombs were arrested as police reportedly found 63 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of cannabis, four digital scales, a loaded 9 mm handgun and a 12-gauge shotgun. Grimes was also carrying $561 that was confiscated. At the same time $14,775, two grams of cocaine, a gram of cannabis, one digital scale, another loaded 9 mm handgun and two flatscreen TVs were seized from his Bolingbrook home.

Joliet narcotics officers said Grimes supplied cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ecstasy to dealers operating in “The Hill” neighborhood on the city’s northeast side. Nine of his alleged dealers were also arrested.

Grimes, who has been cleared murder charges before, is set to appear in court on Sept. 23.
