Roar of Faulty Exhaust System Leads to Cannabis Arrest: Police Report
Police seize 112 grams of cannabis along with a 2009 silver Mitsubishi Lancer following an incident early Tuesday morning in Bolingbrook.
A loud muffler led to a drug bust in Bolingbrook early Tuesday morning, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa.
He said police arrested Alejadro Colin-Ramirez, 23, of 541 White Oak, Bolingbrook, on charges of possession of cannabis (more than 30 grams) and loud exhaust following a traffic stop at 12:32 a.m. near the intersection of Glengary Drive and Harwood Drive.
"A Bolingbrook police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 silver Mitsubishi Lancer for loud exhaust," Rompa said. "Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle."
Upon further investigation, approximately 112 grams of cannabis were seized, Rompa said. He said Colin-Ramirez's vehicle was impounded and he was taken into custody, charged with a felony drug count—and also charged for operating a vehicle with noisy exhaust—and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
