Semi-Trailer Crash Causes Fuel Spill in Bolingbrook

Accident happened when one semi backed into the other, police said.

A minor crash between two semi trucks caused 60 gallons of fuel to spill into the street, Bolingbrook police said Monday.

Lt. Mike Rompa said one semi backed into the other at around 11:30 a.m. near Schwarz Paper Company, 1450 Remington Boulevard. The crash caused a crease in the fuel tank of the semi that was hit, which led to the fuel leak.

Rompa said the incident was being treated as a hazardous materials cleanup.

No injuries were reported in the incident, police said.

The Bolingbrook Fire Department responded to the scene to control the leak, according to the Sun-Times, and a private company arrived to clean up the spill.
