Teens Net Criminal Property Damage Charges After Vandalizing Multiple Vehicles

The teens allegedly shot out the rear window of several vehicles with a BB gun, smashed the windshield of a car when they danced on the hood, and spray-painted and keyed a van.

Three teens were arrested early this morning after police said they allegedly damaged several vehicles in the village.

Luis  A. Rivera, 18, 116 Sunset Lane, and Victor Perez, 17, 722 Feather Sound Drive, were arrested at 3:27 a.m. in the Beaconridge Club House parking lot, police said. A third suspect, Zach Casavant, 19, 308 Malibu Drive, was located and arrested at 5:55 a.m., police said.

The trio face felony criminal property damage charges, police said.

Bolingbrook officers responded to the Beaconridge Club House parking lot for a report of three people trying to break into a car. Upon arrival, officers were told one of the alleged offenders was in the field by the Park District. Police said they were then able to gather additional information on the others involved. Officers saw a person matching the description in the parking lot of the club house. The person had a BB gun which was used to damage vehicles in the area.

Police said a preliminary investigation determined the trio shot out the rear window of several vehicles, smashed the windshield of a car when they danced on the hood, and spray-painted and keyed a van.

After interviewing Perez and Rivera, police were able to gain additional information about Casavant and return to the Beaconridge Club House to make a third arrest.

The three were processed for felony criminal damage to property and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Center.

These three YOUNG adults are solely responsible for their actions. THEY chose to commit the crimes and THEY alone should be held accountable. It does take a village to raise a child, but once that child becomes an adult it is their sole responsibility to make their choices and deal with their consequences. I am a firm believer that although environment does have some weight on a persons psyche, ultimately it is the person who chooses their actions. All this nonsense about "he's a good kid, he's only acting the only way he knows how" is garbage. PEOPLE make their choices. (unless of course extenuating circumstances prevailed (fear for loss of life or other injury)). Plain and simple, these three messed up and now have to pay for their crimes.

I go to BHS. How dare any of you say that BHS is a "breeding ground for criminals." When you're speaking like that, no wonder you have the time to sit behind your computer and attack the public for 3 teenagers. Teenagers are who they are. They're going to make mistakes. They're going to do some pretty stupid stuff. But before you go judging them, how about you straighten your own act up? There's no need to be rude. Stuff happens. You also don't know if they have a messed up past that made them act out. You don't know their life & the psychological things that came about from that. So everyone calm down & try to make Bolingbrook a better place rather than focusing on the problems & trying to find someone to blame.

Ignorant comments ! Where?
Alexis P June 22, 2012 at 02:03 AM
You so-called adults who blame the school system are ridiculous. Grow up. That's all I have to say.
Purple Kitty Mom June 22, 2012 at 04:25 AM
The teens involved are considered adults. Most of you are saying that its not the parents fault. Sure, it wouldn't be if the kids were not raised by the parents. These kids may be intelligent, but they were pretty stupid to think they could get away with this. And if they had gotten away with it, what do you think would happen next? Crminals only escalate in their crimes. I further agree that corporal punishment should be instilled in every child's life. As youngsters, we were taught to fear punishment, these days punishment seems to be slap on the wrist and don't do it again. But they will. And again and again. As for everyone complaining about name calling, maybe that's what they need, a little public humiliation to embarrass them. Then maybe they'd get the message. It worked on us. If we were bad in the store, we would get a spanking right then and there. It was never considered abuse. It was viewed as humility. And we didn't do it again. Now since we can't spank our kids, they don't know humility and embarrassment, so they push our buttons over and over until they get caught by the law and then expect us to pick up the pieces. And, teens commenting here, please exercise that education you received and learn how to spell!

The ones charged with the crime are adults.....Their parents should not be responsible for their actions......It is not a crime to not teach your children right from wrong...as far as BHS goes.....just so happens they went there. I had all 4 of my kids go their. 3 have graduated from college and the last will graduate next year. When you ask them about BHS....they say they are successful DISPITE their schooling....They could not wait to get out of there......If i could have moved to another district...i would have in a heart beat.....come walk the halls just one day during passing period...better yet...attend a football game and watch all the lovely students act like animals....

A book about what? You and your friends? Dumb and dumber!!

Luis I can meet you Lot S Somerset and give you an attitude adjustment or in Devonshire!
Mark Putong June 23, 2012 at 07:37 PM
The fact that you just told a teenager that you'll give him an attitude adjustment over the internet shows your level of maturity is no different then theirs. Thank you for shining light of your hypocritical nature. You complain about their vandalism, yet you are willing to assault a teen. Assault, battery; both great charges to be arrested with. It's very evident you are one of the most ignorant people posting on this subject. Why should their parents have to pay for anything? These three guys are 18, which, last time I checked, was when you are legally adult. Therefore it is THEIR responsibility, not their parents. Also, where are these OUTLANDISH comments coming from about BHS. When was the last time you were in there? Or when you spent some time in a classroom? Oh right, not recently, got it. That is very apparent from yours, as well as many others comments of our school. Please stop posting on such subject matter that you are so ill-informed about. You're making an ass of yourself.
Sally J June 23, 2012 at 08:10 PM
Mark - When was the last time you walked the halls of BHS? If you have visited the school recently, then you will know that the school is like a jungle. When was the last time you reviewed the Illinois Report Card for Bolingbrook High? If you did so recently or some time in that last ten years, you'll know that the school is failing and below the Illinois state average. Outlandish... I don't think so!
Mark Putong June 25, 2012 at 02:21 AM
I just graduated from there, so about three weeks. So I know how it is there. Jungle is not the word to describe how it is there. It isn't bad at all but apparently your phone calls home from the school, and minute amount of incidents seen on here have tainted yours, as well as many others, perceptions. Also I fail to see your correlation between our test scores and behavior. That is the same as comparing apples to chickens. But if you really want to compare the two, I've had classes with two of these kids and they got all A's so if you want to continue the premise of your argument based on that, than you may want to try again.
Stephanie Rivero June 25, 2012 at 08:54 AM
Actually no they do not have ALL A's. And although a jungle is not the best word to describe it, maybe something uglier is. Just because you are part of the pool that is being observed does not mean you necessarily know it. I too graduated from BHS (unfortunately) because I did not have an option. I attended a much better standing high school in Chicago but because of distance issues was forced to transfer to Bolingbrook High. YES test scores and behavior correlate, it has been proven statistically. And the fact that you know these kids on a personal level does not label or perceive them as being something different than others do. Factors such as age, gender, location amongst PLENTY others all affect and alter every person's perception on any given issue. A 50 year old parent will never view anything in the way that you do because your lack of knowledge and poor arguments will never stand a chance against the experience of a wise and much more mature adult. I am a teenager as well and I've made mistakes; I ultimately believe that these "kids" for lack of a better word should be forced to pay for their mistakes. Yes they committed a crime but I refuse to label them as criminals because who has not at some point in their life done anything that may be considered a crime? I am not justifying them at all, I just think that half of the teenagers making opinions on here are only doing so because they know them..makes your arguments weak and biased.
Vicki June 25, 2012 at 11:34 AM
Mark - Did you receive an 'A' for a grade in English?
Lettuce June 25, 2012 at 11:29 PM
Yes, Vicki, Mark did get an A. Do you people realize there are more than 3500 kids at BHS? Why are you focusing on the 1% that are committing crimes? Honestly, people, I am pretty sure you do not have anything better to do.
Lettuce June 25, 2012 at 11:32 PM
" I attended a much better standing high school in Chicago but because of distance issues was forced to transfer to Bolingbrook High." So are you one of the kids that went to BHS but didn't live in the district or was it the other way around??
I am sorry god made you an idoit June 27, 2012 at 02:31 PM
What up Bolingbrook people! I for one am friends with one of these kids. Ill have you know that he was beaten by his mother, and father, he ran away and was homeless for a little while. Ill have you know though he then got his own job, own car, and also is going to collage. We all screw up sometimes, hell I can see a bunch of screw ups on here. The important thing is to mind the fact that you are perfectly capable of doing what these kids did, and instead of being extremely ignorant of many many things, lets just remember how would you feel if you were someone like my friend. Now get over your self's, and get back to living your unfulfilling lives.
katherineee June 30, 2012 at 09:56 AM
i think its sad how the teenagers make more sense than the adults on this. this whole website is a joke. if you think bolingbrook sucks, if you have a problem with the city or the school, then don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya (: this website is just like another Facebook. where more drama can be started, its really annoying. i hate to see how many "mature adults" there are on this thing. ha that's a joke. how can you start a big fuss over a few kids making a mistake. you've done many stupid things before. or oh yeah, i forgot all you adults are perfect. no you aren't, so stop acting like it. i just graduated with Luis & victor. they are two very nice guys, if you stopped judging them for their mistakes you would know that also. wasn't the city just complaining how the news in bolingbrook spreads to fast & shouldn't be put on blast? this website is kind of ruining that, don't you think? lol like i said; a big joke. i think this website should be deleted because all the adults on here are immature people who have nothing better to do than sit at a computer & argue with other people. pointless. so how about you go outside to enjoy the nice weather & stay out of other peoples lives?
katherineee June 30, 2012 at 09:57 AM
& also don't blame the school. the school has nothing to do with it. you sound dumb
GrampaM August 16, 2012 at 01:06 AM
You all have no idea what you are talking about unless you know the parents of these 3 kids you have no right making comments like this. It sounds like to me you need to look in your back yards first.
GrampaM August 16, 2012 at 01:28 AM
Shereena, sounds like you have first hand experience. Unless you know the whole story you have no right to comment.
