Tip from Caller Leads to Drug Arrest by Bolingbrook Police
Bolingbrook's Petronilo I. Cruz was charged on a felony count of possession of a controlled substance—Crystal Meth.
A call of a suspicious person spotted in the 500 block of North Pinecrest early Tuesday morning led Bolingbrook police to arrest a 59-year-old man on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, according to Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa.
Petronilo I. Cruz, 59, of 503 Kildeer 221, Bolingbrook, was taken into custody at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday after he was stopped and checked by officers, according to Rompa. Cruz was found to be in possession of 3.3 grams of Crystal Meth, according to Rompa.
Cruz was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility where he was awaiting a court appearance on Wednesday. An alert resident gets credit for his arrest.
"Bolingbrook Police were called to the area in regards to a suspicious person," Rompa said. "The caller indicated a male, possibly Asian, was walking back-and-forth in front of their home."
