The man is thought to be the father of the homeowner and not a resident of the home.

A firefighter was also taken to the hospital with a rapid heartbeat.

"Our firefighter is doing fine and was being held in the hospital for some additional testing and observation," Litton wrote.

The fire at the ranch home caused between $125,000 and $150,000 and left the home uninhabitable, Bolingbrook Fire Department Battalion Chief Dan Graff said.

The fire remains under investigation.
