'Why Did You Kill My Sister?' Grieving Sister Asked Drew Peterson

Kathleen Savio's sister told how Drew Peterson laughed at her after her sister was found dead.

A second sister of Kathleen Savio told of disgraced ex-Bolingbrook cop Drew Peterson pounding on his slain wife's door the day after she was found dead—but this sister wanted answers.

"Why did you kill my sister," Savio sister Susan Doman said she asked Peterson.

Doman said Peterson looked "very surprised" by the question.

"He kind of choked and said, 'I wouldn't kill the mother of my children,'" she said.

Susan Doman was the second Savio sister to testify at Peterson's murder trial. Both Susan Doman and Anna Marie Doman told of Savio living in fear of Peterson and of his threats to kill her and make her death look like it was an accident.

Susan Doman, who testified Friday, said Savio told her of a time she was in the basement of her house and "her husband, Drew, had a knife on her throat. He said he could kill her and make it look like an accident."

Susan Doman also said Peterson taunted her while they were in Savio's home, saying, "Ha ha, I found the will between the floorboards. And tell your sister Anna you aren't going to get anything."

The handwritten will Peterson filed 15 days after Savio's death in March 2004 left everything to him. His uncle James Carroll is listed as the will's executor.

Defense attorney Joseph "Shark" Lopez ripped into Doman while she was on the witness stand, questioning her involvement with Hollywood consultant Larry Garrison.

Doman signed a contract for Garrison to broker deals for a book or movie based on "the story of Kathleen Savio and the prosecution of Drew Peterson."

"You have a monetary interest in Drew Peterson being convicted, don't you?" Lopez said.

Lopez also questioned the integrity of the projects as outlined by the now-expired October 2009 contract. He noted language allowing the story to be "fictionalized to make it more colorful" and guaranteeing Savio and Doman will be "portrayed in a positive manner."

"So the more dirt you throw at Drew, the more positive it looks for you," Lopez said.

"It wouldn't be positive if Drew was found not guilty," he said. "That's not a good movie."

Susan Doman said she signed the contract because she "wanted the truth to come out."

"This book is about domestic violence," she said.

"This book is about getting paid," Lopez countered.

There actually is no book.

Also Friday, Savio's boyfriend Steve Maniaci told of the night he learned she died.

Maniaci Savio's friend and next-door neighbor Mary Pontarelli informed him of her death. He said rushed over to Savio's house and saw Drew Peterson standing outside under a streetlight.

"He seemed to be writing a report," Maniaci said. "I went up and asked him what the hell happened. He said he didn't know."

"I said, 'Drew, I sure hope you didn't have anything to do with this,'" Maniaci said. "He said he did not."

Maniaci said he told Peterson, "This sure worked out well for you," and Peterson replied, "She would have lost anyway."

Maniaci also said he saw none of the severe bruising on Savio's buttocks or arm three nights before she was found dead.

Maniaci said he and Savio had sex late Friday or early Saturday the weekend she died and her body looked "perfectly normal."

When neighbors found Savio drowned in her dry bathtub the following Monday night, Savio's body was marked with large red injuries on her buttocks and one round red bruise near her elbow.

Also Friday, prosecutors called for the testimony of a woman who said she had an affair with Peterson while he was married to Savio.

Susan McCauley told how Peterson "laughed it off" when she asked about Savio's untimely death.

"He laughed it off and made a couple jokes," said Susan McCauley, who was no longer romantically involved with Peterson when she says she ran into him at a bowling alley and asked him about Savio's death and its effect on her children in March 2004.

"They'll be fine. She was crazy," McCauley said Peterson told her.

McCauley said Peterson joked and laughed when she told him he was lucky that now he would not have to pay child support or give up any of his pension or his home to Savio in their divorce.

Pro streeter no one at BPD is covering up crap for Drew or knew what he supposedly done to Kathy or Stacy. That's all speculation.

Yea, The prosecution are real chumps for trying to put a murderer behind prison walls forever. I'm sure you would be singing a different tune had this been one of your family members. All roads lead to Drew Peterson being a murderer with a badge. Common sense tells me and most of the world that. The whole thing defies logic!
Francis M. Regan August 11, 2012 at 05:44 PM
The whole world thinks Drew is guilty? B.S. do you leave in a vacuum screen_name? Don't tell me anyone here hasn't talked to friends, police officers active or retired and even a lawyer or two or read other blogs about the case and I'll bet it's 50/50 on innocent or guilt .
screen_name August 11, 2012 at 05:51 PM
Typical behavior of you. Everyone is to blame but you. You still carry the same attitude as you did when you were wearing that badge.

Jackie, Just report him. I lash out at him because he picks on innocent people that come here to talk about the case and that try to express their opinions.. He never has anything constructive to say.
screen_name August 11, 2012 at 06:34 PM
I did not say the whole world. I said MOST of the world feels Drew Peterson is guilty. Why do you reply to a persons comment if you do not read or understand the whole thing? 50/50? You're grasping at straws with that comment and I'll bet that Drew Peterson never walks the streets again. From start to finish, his actions and non actions have spoke volumes to many. It's proper to go on TV and slander both wives? He said that he would never kill the mother of his kids but yet he and his lawyers conduct smear campaigns on TV and in the courtroom against her? The mother of his 2 kids? Why does he feel the need to paint her in a bad light if this was just an accident? All of these people can not be wrong! They all say the same damn thing. When anybody talks about Drew Peterson and his two wives, they talk about murders, abuse, control issues, stalking, etc.. Funny how these two wives are no longer around to talk about it but yet Drew Peterson still is. In my opinion, he is a murderer and I will go as far to say that I think he has killed more than these two moms. Many many things bring me to my conclusions. Drew Peterson will never get 12 jurors to find him not guilty. This will be a guilty verdict or a hung jury, which means, a re-trial, either way, he will be sitting behind concrete walls for a very long time.
Francis M. Regan August 11, 2012 at 06:51 PM
Get real screen_name you think he may have killed more! Now you are really grasping at straws. Where and who may his victims be? If there is a retrial, which Burmila give him a much lower bond.
Beth August 11, 2012 at 07:03 PM
@ Francis....doesn't take a rocket scientist to see Drew had motive, opportunity and means.....he may get away with it, but he is a killer.....2 wives gone forever.....wake up and quit defending the sleeze ball!!
Francis M. Regan August 11, 2012 at 07:21 PM
Beth I never said Drew is innocent or guilty. People like you have him guilty w/o the trial being completed. He's entitled to a fair and impartial jury trial as part of his due process.
screen_name August 11, 2012 at 07:29 PM
In My Opinion, You do not just wake up one day at the age Drew Peterson was when Kathleen Savio was murdered and just decide to start killing people and In my opinion he killed again 3 years later with Stacy. That's 2 people, 2 human beings and that's why I said it's my belief that he killed before that because peoples life's has no meaning to Drew Peterson. Unless his 2 sons help post a lower bond, providing it gets lowered that much or at all, Drew Peterson will sit behind them concrete walls at W.C.A.D.F.. Why hasn't Stacy Cales come back home yet? She would have came back if she was alive. She feared Drew Peterson but now that he is in jail she would know it was safe for her to comeback. She could have came back to be a witness for the state in the Kathleen Savio case, Drew Peterson couldn't stop that. She could have come back to get her kids, Steven Peterson couldn't stop her, she is/was the mother of them. Why hasn't she come back just to get her slice of the pie? Half of EVERYTHING plus child support? Dead people cant function, that's why! How do you know that James Glasgow wont have him arrested for the murder of Stacy Cales? I'm betting they have a sealed indictment from the grand jury that was formed a little while back.. You cant get a bond in the state of IL if you are accused of more than one murder so that would trump Judge Burmila lowering Drew Peterson's bond.. I'm going with James Glasgow has all bases covered. Just my opinion of course.

Beth It doesn't take rocket surgery to see Drews innocence. His wife ran off with another man , just like her mother did.
joliet resident August 11, 2012 at 07:42 PM
Francis, are you the fired Oak Brook cop??? Funny thing Bolingbrook wanted so bad to fire Drew and he had just come back from a suspension. Oak Brook got rid of the kid and they seemed to have been justified. No one wants to be pulled over and see Peterson on the officer's badge. The Patch needs to ban you because of your filthy mouth. You are so much like Drew it's creepy.

Drew Peterson isn't going home ever again. James Glasgow has not been the States Attorney for almost 16 years ( soon to be another 4 years) because he is dumb. This isn't the states first murder case. The case is being built one day at a time in courtroom # 403. Justice for Kathleen is right around the corner.

Yep! Stacy ran off with another man and all she took was a passport, some bikinis and 25,000 to last her a lifetime. It makes total sense on why she has not returned to get her kids or at minimum ( if she didn't want the kids) 1/2 her slice of the pie. Okie Dokie! Stacy's mom met foul play just like her daughter did.

You see nothing wrong with what Stephen Peterson did? He stashed Drew Peterson's guns at his house when he knew the state police were going to be serving a search warrant on his fathers home and he as a police officer knew that all guns would be taken out of that home as part of the search warrant. He helped his father hide over 250 thousand dollars that he got from a line of credit on the house that he and Stacy owned together. Stephen Peterson has no seniority with Oak Brook Police. He was a patrol officer. He had no higher rank at the time of his firing. That's another thing, Why didn't Stacy just go to the bank and take that line of credit? Stacy could have done that with a stroke of the pen, Just like Drew did. She just settled for the supposed 25,000, a couple of bikinis and a passport? No way! The best part is, she supposedly took a passport so she could leave the country but there are absolutely no flight records or video to show that she even attempted to do either one of these things. Let me guess, she had a fake I.D? Security at all airports is amazingly tight since 911. Cant happen, didn't happen! Numerous things point to Drew Peterson killed Stacy Cales. It's common sense and pure logic.

it dont matter which Francis name I reply to. If I reply back to you or theirs then it must be something I want to chat about. No biggie to me. No harm, No foul. Looks like you are not making any friends on here though, not when people are cloning your Francis Regan Name.
Ricanana August 12, 2012 at 01:48 AM
Are you sure she ran home just like her mother, maybe Stacy is in the same place as her mother? Who knows if he eliminated her mother also.
Ricanana August 12, 2012 at 01:51 AM
OOps ran away from home. Correction to recent post.

Only a lonely low life needs to clone another's name. So the fake Francis Regan, watch out for the real one.
Zoey August 12, 2012 at 04:35 PM
I have yet to find anyone that thinks he's innocent in any of the categories mentioned above. 50/50??? Not even close. Didn't Greenberg comment about the case before joining the defense? At that time didn't Greenberg's comments lean toward the prosecution?
Francis M. Regan August 12, 2012 at 08:23 PM
Went to Church today and prayed for Kathy Savio and Stacy Peterson and their families as well for Drew Peterson and his family.
Haleyaloha August 12, 2012 at 11:47 PM
Francis you sound sick just like Drew Peterson. May god help you Francis it sounds like to idolize Peterson you can join him in the scum of the earth club.
Francis M. Regan August 13, 2012 at 01:37 PM
Haleyaloha if you read properly and read the thread there is someone else using the real Francis Regan such as the fake one posted that Drew is innocent.

I have no issues with "chump" prosectors. You have to play the cards you were dealt. They were dealt bad cards. I would have hidden under my desk if I was there when they were appointing who was going to take this case. Regarding other comments: I don't think 50/50 think he is ACTUALLY innocent, just not guilty in the eyes of the law. Look at Casey Anthony. Look at OJ. They did everything BUT confess. Even if he is found guilty, he'll probably get out on appeal. That hearsay evidence is only going to go so far.
