Woman Accused of Soliciting, Stealing From Sleeping Truck Driver: Police

Tonya Veenstra accused of prostitution, helping herself to money from a trucker's wallet, according to police.

A Wilmington woman was arrested Thursday, accused of sex solicitation at a Bolingbrook truck stop, along with stealing from a sleeping truck driver.

Lt. Mike Rompa said police responded to a report that a woman was soliciting truck drivers in the 500 block of Bolingbrook Drive.

Tonya Veenstra, of the 2000 block of Roberts Road, Wilmington, is accused of offering sex for money, according to jail records.

Bolingbook police said Veenstra also helped herself to money from a sleeping trucker's cab.

Rompa said Veenstra knocked on one of the victims' trucks, but he didn't answer because he was asleep in the rear cab. Veenstra allegedly entered the truck, found the victim's wallet and took $40, police said.

Veenstra was booked into the Will County jail on charges of burglary, solicitation of a sexual act and prostitution, according to jail records. She was due in court Friday afternoon.
