Woman Critical Following Accident Near Quantum Foods in Bolingbrook: Police Report

A 57-year-old man from Romeoville was the driver of the Chrysler 300 involved in a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian crash on Wednesday night in the area of Schmidt Road and South Frontage Road.

A 53-year-old woman from Burbank was critically injured in a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian crash on Wednesday night in the area of Schmidt Road and South Frontage Road, right in front of Bolingbrook's Quantum Foods, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa.

Rompa said police and fire units responded to a call for help at 5:20 p.m.

Rompa said the preliminary investigation report alleges the woman was walking in the crosswalk on Schmidt Road, near South Frontage Road. He said she was struck by a 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by a 57-year-old man from Romeoville.

Rompa said the woman was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove and was listed in critical condition. He said the crash remains under investigation by the Bolingbrook Police Traffic Division.
