Woman Resists Arrest After DUI Stop; Teen Grabs Cop's Gun: Police

A Bolingbrook woman faces felony charges after allegedly shoving an officer during a traffic stop that uncovered evidence of drug and alcohol use, while a 17-year-old passenger in her car is accused of trying to grab a cop's gun.

Lt. Mike Rompa said a Bolingbrook patrol officer spotted a 2010 silver VW Jetta driven by Eboness Hudson, 39, of the 200 block of Sioux Drive, traveling at a high rate of speed in the 200 block of Bolingbrook Drive. The car also only displayed only one headlight and was driving down the center line of the lane, Rompa said.

Police said the vehicle did not pull over immediately when the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but eventually, the driver did comply.

Rompa said that upon contact with Hudson, the officer could smell odors of alcohol and burnt cannabis coming from the vehicle. 

Police said Hudson became uncooperative, refusing to exit the vehicle and rolling up the windows. 

Eventually, she got out of the car, pushed the officer and resisted arrest, Rompa said. Hudson was eventually taken into custody by a back-up officer on scene.

After Hudson's arrest, a 17-year-old male passenger allegedly got out of the car and got into " a fighting stance," Rompa said. The teen allegedly pushed the officer and grabbed the officer's gun while resisting arrest. 

Rompa said the teenager was secured by police, processed and transported to River Valley Juvenile Detention Facility. He is charged with disarming a peace officer, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and resisting/obstructing a peace officer, police said.

Hudson is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault of a peace officer, resisting/obstructing an officer, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, improper traffic lane use and headlight violation, according to jail records.

Her bond was set at $50,000, and she was due in court Monday afternoon.
