What will be your most important priority if you get elected?

My top priority as Township Clerk is to maintain the necessary records and documents for DuPage Township. Throughout the year, there are many publishing and administrative deadlines – crucial attention to detail and timelines will continue to be a top priority as I enter my next term in office.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I believe the most unique perspective that I am able to bring to the table, as a candidate, is my Accounting and Financial background. I am able to easily review our financial documents and provide input and insight in areas to help heighten our fiscal responsibility. These skills are very valuable during our Budget process where I have been considered a respected member of our Township Board.

How long have you lived in your community and/or been active in local issues?

I am a 28-year resident of DuPage Township  - purchasing three different homes during this time. My local political involvement first started as a volunteer in 1988.  I have raised my three children in DuPage Township, first as local students and now seeing them as contributing adults in their hometowns. I have watched these communities evolve and grow, and I am very proud to have partnered with many organizations to help in the growth of our area.

What's your favorite thing about DuPage Township?

My favorite thing about DuPage Township is our Award Winning Staff and Board – I affectionately call the Staff my “Dream Team." Each of our Staff members were carefully selected for their positions, and their jobs have evolved based on their many unique talents and strengths. Our Staff and Board members are respected throughout the State of Illinois for their vast knowledge and skills, and they are often requested to assist in training opportunities of other Townships.

What are the biggest challenges facing DuPage Township, and how would you address them?

Our current economy has thrown many of our residents into harsh financial situations that they would have never imagined. Because so many of these residents have never faced the struggles that are now part of their everyday lives – it has been a strong focus of the current Board, and my campaign slate for this election, to advertise, communicate and educate as many of our residents as possible about our outstanding outreach programs. Our biggest challenge and goal at this time is to continue providing the quality assistance to our many needy residents, as we have in the past, while still maintaining a consistent and solid financial and fiscally responsible agency that our residents and partnering agencies can seek in their time of need.
