I wish to continue to maintain transparency as an advocate to our patrons.  Ensuring that the library continues to provide the excellent service we provide to our community.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

Experience and a willingness to listen and express a real voice for the advocacy of our library. I have been privileged to work with a fine director, staff, and a wonderful and knowledgeable board.

How long have you lived in your community and/or been active in local issues?

I have lived in Bolingbrook for 38 years. I have been active in local issues for 10 years.

What's your favorite thing about Fountaindale Public Library District?

The service the library staff provides to the community. We have been  recognized by the Library Journal  for the past several years for the excellent service we provide to our community.

What is the biggest challenge facing the Fountaindale Public Library District and how would you work to address it?

One challenge facing the library is the uncertainty surrounding services traditionally provided by the state of Illinois to local libraries. We have seen these services shrink as state funding disappears and these costs shift to the local level. The Fountaindale Public Library has already taken steps to ensure uninterrupted access to key services such as automation and plans to continue to work with our neighbors and our state library association  for the  other services such as delivery. As trustees we are involved in the local, state and national levels of the library associations.

Please add any other information pertinent to your campaign.

I look forward to  being able to continue working with our educated and professional board of trustees, library staff, and our director. This is how we  will continue to meet the needs of our patrons that they have come to expect from us and our first class library staff. We have and will continue to meet  the needs of an ever changing diverse community.
