Chicago Tribune Endorses Bob Kalnicky for State Representative

The Tribune also endorsed Kalnicky during his primary race this spring.

The following is a press release from Bob Kalnicky. He faces Democratic challenger Natalie Manley in the race for state representative of the 98th district.

The Chicago Tribune has endorsed Bob Kalnicky for Illinois State Representative in the 98th district. The Tribune also previously endorsed Kalnicky during his primary race, and their confidence in Kalnicky's qualifications and abilities has not wavered.

In their endorsement, the Tribune writes: "Bob Kalnicky, a Republican from Bolingbrook, would bring a unique perspective to the General Assembly. He oversees a nonprofit counseling agency, the Community Service Council, which recently received state money to launch a foreclosure prevention program...His perspective from the nonprofit world would be useful; he knows how grant funds can be wasted and how to ensure accountability."

The Tribune endorsement echoes the confidence from many of the endorsements that Kalnicky has received from local elected leaders, business organizations, school and county board members, and the residents of the 98th district - We need policies that will help get fix our state's fiscal mess and Illinoisans back to work, and Bob Kalnicky is the only candidate in the 98th district race that can help do that.

"I am pleased to receive the endorsement of the Chicago Tribune for a second time. The Tribune truly has its finger on the pulse of Illinois politics, and their most recent polls show that Illinois residents are incredibly unhappy with the direction that Governor Pat Quinn and Speaker Mike Madigan have taken us in. The Tribune, like all Illinoisans, knows that something needs to change, and I appreciate their recognition and endorsement," stated Kalnicky.
