Fountaindale Board Interviewing Finalists for New Director Position

Panel hopes to have post filled by end of June.

The Board of Trustees has narrowed its list of potential library full-time directors down to three and hopes to have the position filled by the end of June, officials said.

Bob Kalnicky, vice president of the board, said the board interviewed the last of three applicants Tuesday during its executive session meeting at the .

Names of the three finalists were not immediately released but Kalnicky said he hopes the board can make a decision by the end of this week or early next week.

"Personally, I'm hoping we can do the interview and then make a decision on who we want to hire [shortly thereafter]," he said.

The board will meet Thursday for its regularly scheduled meeting in the board room, on the second floor of the library. The public is invited to attend. For agenda information, click HERE.

Former Fountaindale Director Vicky Trupiano retired last year and was by veteran library executive Sandy Ringstrom in January. 

Before coming to Fountaindale, Ringstrom served as director of the Sterling Public Library and was the executive director of the Heritage Trail Library System, to which Fountaindale used to belong.

The board has been searching for a permanent replacement since January and has spent approximately $11,000 to hire search firm John Keister and Associates.

Board President Peggy Danhoff said the Vernon Hills-based company specializes in executive searches for libraries and global corporations.
