Fountaindale Board to Welcome New Director With Ice Cream Social Before Meeting

Escape the heat for a while and greet Paul Mills Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Amid blazing heat, the was already designated as a cooling station for folks looking for some much needed relief from the sun.

Thursday, beginning at 4:30 p.m., it will be even cooler.

Staff of the library, as well as the library's board of trustees, will hold an ice cream social to help welcome Paul Mills, who was in June.

Mills was the library's former deputy director and began his duties July 5.

Mills left Fountaindale in January to become the director of the Acorn Public library District in Oak Forest, where he helped manage an  among other initiatives.

According to the library's website, all ages are invited to attend and the event is free. The event ends at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the first floor lobby.

Shortly thereafter, the library's board will meet for its regularly scheduled July meeting.

Among items of note, the board will vote on approving a tentative budget and appropriation ordinance, an intrinsic green roof contract, merit increases for some employees and hear an update on the library's construction progress.
