Below is a complete list of classes and events at the Fountaindale Public Library during the month of May.

The has announced a complete listing of May events and classes. 

Most of these programs require registration unless they say "drop-in" next to them.

All Together Storytime: Mondays, May 2, 9 and 16 at 10:30 a.m. for all ages, drop-in to Meeting Room A. Drop in for stories, songs and fun! Preschoolers must be accompanied by an adult.

Anime Club: Mondays, May 2 and 16 at 6:30 p.m. for grades 6 through 12, limit 25, in the Vortex. Come in to discuss your favorite anime and manga.

Diez Deditos (Ten Little Fingers): Mondays, May 2, 9 and 16 at 7 p.m., for ages 2 to 6 with an adult, drop-in to the Storytime Room. This storytime is presented in both English and Spanish.

Family Storytime: Tuesdays, May 3, 10 and 17 at 7 p.m. for all ages, drop-in to the Storytime Room. Share great stories and songs with your family!

Senior Game Club: Wednesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. for adults age 55 and up in Meeting Room A. Join us for a morning of board, card, or electronic games such as Bingo or Wii games. It's a great opportunity to visit with friends and make new ones.

Marriage and Money: Wednesday, May 4 at 7 p.m. for adults in Meeting Room B. Come learn how to meld your financial lives together after you’ve meld your personal lives. This class will help you create a few simple plans in the beginning of your relationship such as creating a household budget, paying down debt and saving for your future together.

Milk and Cookies Storytime: Thursdays, May 5 and 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Panera Bread, 714 E. Boughton Road, limit 25, ages 2 to 6 with a caregiver. Sign-ups begin two weeks prior to the session and is required. Sign up online at www.fountaindale.org or by calling 630-685-4231.

Build It!: Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. for grades K through 5 in the Creativity Park. Pile up our blocks and make any colorful creation you want!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration: Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. for grades 9 through 12 and adults in Meeting Room A. Join us for snacks, refreshments and a movie.

Teen Craft Club: Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m. for grades 6 through 12, limit 12, in the Vortex. Come join our monthly club for creative teens. We will work on a new project each month. Bring ideas for future projects and show off some of the creative things you've made.

Super Science Lab: Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for grades K through 5 in the Creativity Park. We’ll experiment and have a lot of fun with the scientific method. At this class we’ll explore the science of the rainforest.

Teen Bingo: Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. for grades 6 through 12, limit 25, in the Vortex. Come in and play good old-fashioned Bingo to win prizes.

Bolingbrook Writer’s Workshop: Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. for adults in Meeting Room B. Share your writing experiences, garner inspiration or come for encouragement in creating your own story.

Young Writers’ Club: Tuesday, May 10 at 4:15 p.m. for grades K through 5 in the Creativity Park. Put your creative powers to work and construct stories and poems!

Teen Gaming Club: Tuesdays, May 10 and 24 at 6:30 p.m. for grades 6 through 12, limit 25, in the Vortex. Interested in gaming? Try our the library's gaming club where we'll play video & board games and discuss the latest games. The library will provide access to Wii, xBox 360, and PS3 video game equipment. Club members are welcome to bring in their own games, Rated T and below.

Heart Healthy: Wednesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. for adults in Meeting Room A. Learn tips to keep your heart healthy and strong!

Horror Book Club: Wednesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. for adults in the second floor Board Room. Do you like getting chills and reading about things that go bump in the night? Join us for thrilling conversation as we discuss Darkness on the Edge of Town by Brian Keene.

American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR/AED: Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for grades 9 through 12 and adults in Meeting Room A. This is a well-rounded class for the layperson as well as the fitness, education and childcare professional. Adult, Child and Infant CPR; Choking; and Automatic External Defibrillator will be covered. Attendees will be provided with a barrier device for training purposes. An American Heart Association CPR card will be issued at the end of class and will be good for two years. There is a class fee of $35.00 payable at registration. Checks should be made out to Chicagoland CPR & Safety Training. Registration must be done in person at the library and is limited to the first 20 people to sign up.

Hidden Oaks Family Storytime: Saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m. for all ages, limit 50, in the Children’s Storytime Room. Read a story around the theme for the day and play nature activities with an experienced Hidden Oaks naturalist. Wildflowers sprout with each raindrop. Discover the magical colors and scents of spring. Co-sponsored by the Bolingbrook Park District.

Coffee and Conversation Book Club: Tuesday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. for adults in Meeting Room B, drop-in. Come in and join the conversation and have a cuppa joe. This month we will discuss Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.

Teen Advisory Board: Tuesday, May 17 at 4 p.m. for grades 6 through 12, limit 20, in the Vortex. Are you interested in volunteering at the library? Join the Teen Advisory Board to voice your opinion, assist in planning programs and so much more!

Chess Club: Wednesday, May 18 at 4:15 p.m. for grades 4 through 8, limit 12, in the Children’s World Park. Come to this club and challenge your opponents to a stimulating match! If you have never played the game before, we can teach you the basics.

Genealogy Club: Wednesday, May 18 at 7 p.m. for adults in the third floor Local History Room. Come find out ways to make your family research easier.

Adult Gaming Club: Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m. for adults in Meeting Room A. Are you an Adult Gamer?  Try out the library's gaming club where we'll play video games and discuss the latest video games. The library will provide access to Wii, Xbox360, and PS3 video game equipment and games but it is advised that club members bring in their own equipment and games, rated M and below.

Saturday Special Drop-in Storytime:  Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. all ages, preschoolers with an adult, in the Storytime Room. We’ll enjoy songs, stories and a visit from Skippyjon Jones. Costumed character courtesy of the Bolingbrook Barnes and Noble.

How to Sell on eBay: Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m. for adults in Meeting Room A, limit 50. This class will provide an introduction on how to sell items on eBay.

X Meets Y Book Club: Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m. for those in their 20’s and 30’s, meets at Bar Louie, 619 E. Boughton Road in the Promenade Shopping Center. Join us for drinks and a book discussion! This month we are discussing Long Way Around by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

Preschool Build It!: Monday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers with a parent in the Creativity Park. Young architects meet for constructive fun!

Great Reads Book Club: Wednesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. for adults in the second floor Board Room, drop-in. This club discusses books that deal with family issues or current hot topics. This month we are reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.

Art House and Foreign Language Film Series: Wednesday, May 25 at 6:30 p.m. for ages 18 and up in Meeting Room A. Come in and watch popular and award-winning art house and foreign language films. This month we are viewing The Kids are All Right starring Annette Bening and Julianne Moore. Rated R, runtime 106 minutes.

AAA Texting While Driving: Wednesday, May 25 at 7 p.m. for grades 6 and up and adults in the Vortex. AAA representative Nick Jarmusz will discuss the dangers of texting while driving. Teens and parents will be able to use the AAA “texting while driving” simulator to experience attempting to drive and text at the same time.

Teen Recipe Exchange: Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. for grades 6 through 12 in the Vortex. Share your favorite picnic recipes and build up your own collection. Please do not bring in food.

Make it, Take it: Saturday, May 28, all day, all ages in the Creativity Park. Make a special springtime craft that you can take home with you!

Library Closed for Memorial Day: Monday, May 30, all day. The library will be closed for the Memorial Day Holiday.
