The announced that a new west side book drop has been installed at the , located at 180 N. Weber Road, across from the .

“This book drop will help us accommodate the busy lives of our patrons,” said . “While they are out shopping or running errands, our patrons can drop their materials off at this external location. The library’s Bookmobile now makes a stop at the church two nights a week, so it was a natural location to place a remote book drop. The First Presbyterian Church has been a wonderful partner to work with in bringing library services closer to our patrons on the west side of town.”

Patrons can return materials to the book drop at any time. Materials will be picked up once a day, Monday through Saturday, and brought back to the main library where the items will be checked in.

“Because of the library’s automated materials handling system, there will be a minimum impact on our workflow,” said Theresa Hildebrand, circulation manager for the library. “Once the items are back in the building, we will feed them into the system like we do for other items and the materials handling system will sort them appropriately."

The library will monitor how the remote book drop is utilized and may add other remote drops in the future if a need for them is identified.
