Editor's note: This release is from Bob Kalnicky, the Republican candidate for the 98th district state representative seat. He faces Democratic candidate Natalie Manley in the race.

State Representative Candidate Bob Kalnicky has been endorsed by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce for the 98th district seat.

"At no other time in our states history has it been more critical that Members of the Illinois General Assembly provide leadership that protects and advances the interests of the business community. We believe that [Bob's] election to the Illinois General Assembly will help produce sustained economic growth, help create more jobs, and get our state back on track," the Chamber said in a letter highlighting their endorsement.

Kalnicky appreciates the Chamber's endorsement and believes that they speak for small business owners across the state.

"Unemployment in Illinois remains higher than the national average; job growth is stagnant and the policies that have been coming out of Springfield for the last 30 years have created a hostile business climate. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce understands this, they understand what businesses need to grow and succeed, and they can identify the people who will work to make job growth and fiscal responsibility possible. They realize that I am the only candidate in this race that will fight against Mike Madigan's destructive business policies, and I am grateful for their endorsement."

During a meeting with local business owners, Kalnicky discussed a 3-point plan for business growth which included repealing the corporate income tax increase of 2011; working to balance the state budget, cut spending, and reduce the deficit; and initiating substantive legislation on workers compensation reform.

Kalnicky recently served as board chairman for the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce and was honored with their Individual Leadership Award; he continues to serve on the board of directors. Kalnicky has also been endorsed by the National Federation for Independent Business (NFIB), citing Kalnicky's understanding of small business issues and the need for someone in Springfield that will fight to ensure a strong economy and good climate for job growth, and that will work against excessive government regulations and fight for our free market economy.
