Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar will run unopposed this April for his eighth term in office, according to the Bolingbrook Reporter.
No one filed to run against the mayor by the Dec. 26 deadline.
Someone could still file to run as a write-in candidate for the election. The deadline to do so is Feb. 7, according to the Reporter.
Village Clerk Carol Penning will also run unopposed for re-election. It will be Penning's seventh term in the position.
Three trustee positions will be on the April ballot. Those seats are currently held by Joseph Morelli, Michael Lawler and Sandra Swinkunas. Morelli and Lawler will run for re-election and will be joined by newcomers Maria Zarate and Tim Dombrow. Swinkunas is not seeking re-election, according to the Reporter.
Morelli, Lawler and Zarate are on the First Party slate. Dombrow is noted as an independent candidate.
Editor's note: This story previously left out Tim Dombrow, who is running for trustee. Patch regrets the error.

There are plenty of ways to keep up on Bolingbrook news:
What is your message? The only thing that I've read is that you want to convert empty commercial property into skating rinks, parks and gardens. Besides that, everything else that you've discussed here are just anti-Claar comments. If you have ideas or a platform, I'd love to hear them! Jessica
Have a good morning Mayor Claar.
Also, you assume I'm supporting Tim Dombrow, but all I really said in the early part of this conversation is that I knew he is running and he would be a good person to consider. That doesn't mean I will go door to door for him at this time. I won't decide who I'm voting for until it gets closer to the election in April. Rhonda, you've become very angry and hateful person since we last talked. Not like you. Or maybe I never got to know the real you. Go back to the way you were. This nonsense is not good for your professional career, be it politics or anything else.
No ones forcing you to read my comments. P.S. Do you think I care what you think? You're just 1 voter out of 20k.
Why don't you take your own advice and walk away? Bet cha can't. Go lick and stuff some envelopes for Tim. He could certainly use your help.

Interesting that Rhonda refers to herself in the 3rd person. Hmmm. Makes you wonder. Could it be that some people have more than 1 name that they use to comment and so that they can agree and support each other?
