Romeoville Creates Liquor License for Craft Beer Events

Chicago Beer Rally coming to Romeoville Athletic and Events Center next month.

The Romeoville Village Board on Wednesday approved a new liquor license category specifically for craft beer events like the upcoming Chicago Beer Rally.

The class H-1 temporary license will allow the sale of craft beer to be consumed at licensed locations. A similar category, class H, already allowed for the sale and consumption of craft beer at charitable events. The H-1 classification does not require craft beer events to be for charity.

The ordinance also adds the new Romeoville Athletic and Events Center, 55 Phelps Ave., as an eligible location for events that serve alcohol, according to the Herald-News.

The board passed the new regulation in time for the May 3 Chicago Beer Rally, set to take place at the event center.
