Trial Continues for Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 10-Year-Old Relative

Alfredo Porcayo of Bolingbrook was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault after police said he had inappropriate contact with his step-granddaughter.

The trial for the Bolingbrook man that police say had improper relations with his ten-year-old relative was delayed Monday in a Will County courtroom.

The bench trial for Alfredo Porcayo, 33, of the 200 block of Bunker Hill Drive, was continued to June 22.

Porcayo was charged in March 2008 with predatory criminal sexual assault after police said he had inappropriate contact with his 10-year-old step-granddaughter on several occasions.

Lt. Ken Teppel, who at the time was the spokesman for the , said the unidentified 10-year-old victim and her mother—both Bolingbrook residents—went to police in February 2008 with concerns about Porcayo’s contact with the girl over the past year, according to a 2008 Suburban Life report.

After being questioned by police, Porcayo was arrested and posted bond later that week.
