Village Board Honors Lady Raiders, St. Baldrick's Before Tending to Light Agenda

The village board recognized the efforts of the state-champion Bolingbrook Lady Raiders and St. Baldrick's Foundation on an otherwise uneventful board meeting Tuesday night.

About the biggest news to come out of Tuesday night's village board meeting was the fact that Fire Chief Dave Litton will be shaving his head in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

It was that kind of night for the village board.

With one resolution and one ordinance on the agenda, Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar used a majority of the meeting time to honor the Bolingbrook Lady Raiders, who won their , and St. Baldrick's, the childhood cancer research foundation.

Claar proclaimed March 11 as St. Baldrick's Bolingbrook 4 Kids day and urged all residents to stop by the for the organization's annual head-shaving event.

As for those two agenda items? The board passed both of them—one that lends the village's support to the Village of DePue for an environmental site remediation of contamination cleanup and the other authorizing a surplus of land located in front of the new Costco to the Boughton Woodward Commercial Center.
