Village Board Secures Federal Money for Boughton Road Improvements
The village board approved a measure that secures a $2 million federal grant to repave Boughton Road.
Bolingbrook trustees Tuesday unanimously voted on a measure that will move along a $2.7 million agreement between the village and state to repave a portion of Boughton Road.
The measure will secure a $2 million federal grant from the Federal Highway Administration to repave the eastbound lanes of Boughton from Sunshine Drive to Schmidt Road.
The other $700,000 will come out of the village's pocket.

The board in April agreed to pay Rempe-Sharpe & Associates, Inc. no more than $80,000 to complete the resurfacing project.

Mayor Roger Claar said Bolingbrook is still in the process of seeking financial relief from ComEd.
The Illinois Department of Transportation will bid the project out in September.
Police Department to get new squad car
The board also approved a measure that will give the Bolingbrook Police Department a new unmarked squad car.
The car will be bought from Advantage Chevrolet of Bolingbrook and cost the village $23,975.
Village rehires Springfield lobbyist
Bolingbrook renewed a contract to hire a Springfield firm to lobby for the village in the state's capitol.
The village will pay Governmental Consulting Services, located at 420 W. Capitol Ave., $36,000 annually.
Claar said the firm had a significant hand in helping lawmakers pass Senate Bill 83, which enables five communities—Bolingbrook, Homer Glen, Lemont, Romeovilleand Woodridge—to create the Northern Will County Joint Action Water Agency, which will likely look to take action against Illinois American Water to overtake the pipeline that carries Lake Michigan water from Bedford Park to the west suburbs.
State lawmakers passed the measure this week and the bill now awaits Gov. Pat Quinn’s signature to become law.
